The Background
Procter Contracts was chosen to provide bespoke fencing solutions for Aberporth Airport in Ceredigion, Wales. Our unique ability to design, manufacture, and install custom solutions in-house, along with our experience in large UK airport projects, made us the ideal choice. We offered technical support and guidance to ensure a successful outcome.
The Solution
The project encompassed the design, supply, and installation of a large 15m wide Manual Sliding Gate for the airfield. To reduce wind loading, we opted for two Double Leaf gate with 656 mesh infill and 3 number line wires above each leaf at 7.5m. This tailored solution provided optimal security and functionality.
With a project value exceeding £70k, the airport team was highly satisfied with the project’s outcome, considering the challenges it faced. We are proud to have contributed to the major developments at West Wales Airport, supporting domestic flights and establishing the airport as a center for civil and military unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) deployment.
